"Approximately ¼ of a garment’s environmental footprint happens after it leaves the store"

Sustainable Fashion is the future, Spanish brands know it. Therefore, we propose to follow 10 steps to achieve it.

I. Reduce, recycle and reuse.

95% of all clothes that end up in a landfill today could have been recycled. Creating new fibres is costly for the environment and generates waste. That doesn’t make sense. Not letting resources go to waste makes sense.

II. Wash less, much less.

Most of us we wash several times a week. But do they really need it? Use your eyes and nose to determine when you really should schedule in a laundry day.

III. Love things made to last.

Make it last. We love durable and "only buy me once" products.

IV. Be critical with materials you use.

Information is power. Read the label and be conscious about the item you are having in your hands.

V. Think of organic.

Use natural, organic and recycled fabrics. It takes more time and consideration to use sustainable fabrics, but we see this as time well spent. Especially when it helps lower our impact on the planet. It's biodegradable so creates less waste going to landfill.

VI. Recycling is always the best option.

1.  Collect your old, unwanted or used-up clothes and textiles in any condition from any brand.

2. Put them in a bag.

3.  Take them to a recycling point or a store that recycles. For example, Monki has their own system of recycling.

VII. Defend the local community.

Communities suffer from the damage caused by industrial processes.

VIII. “Made in” is full of prejudices.

Do you think there’s a difference between the Made in Spain, Made in Italy or Made in China?

IX. Before buying, take consciousness.

Do you really need it? Make sure if it will be necessary or an extra item in your closet. Buy with consciousness and stop feeding fast fashion.

X. Less is always more.

Why sometimes less is good?

Less negative thoughts will make room for more positive thoughts.

Less compromise means more power for your own decisions.

Less waste more compromise with the Earth.
